The “Parish Springs” are also located in the municipal township, they are the most important and give rise to San Juan river. It also has the great aqueduct of San Agustin Actipan and 18 deep wells from which water is distributed to the villages. The main trade in the town of Teotihuacan are foodstuffs. Teotihuacan has a large diversity of wild flora and fauna, and a proliferation of fruit trees such as: pear, apple, peach, plum and apricot. The predominant climate in Teotihuacan is mild Semi-dry with rain in the summer. The average annual temperature ranges between 15 Celsius degrees, May is the hottest month with a maximum temperature of 33 Celsius degrees. The heaviest rains occurs in July and vary between 56 and 100 millimeters, the drought occurs from November to February and the first frost occurs in October and last through March.

There are several hotels, restaurants and bars in Teotihuacan where you will find comfortable accommodations and exquisite food. The production of masks and figures of clay, jade and obsidian,are very enhanced, they imitate those produced in the prehispanic period, you can regularly find these crafts at the archaeological site. You can also find shawls, wool sweaters and overcoats, which are common in the region. Within the gastronomy of Teotihuacan there is an amazing variety of dishes, whose knowledge is transmitted by the grandparent generation to generation, achieving the perfect combination of the typical Mexican food, some typical dishes are the “Chicken with mole” and escamoles (ants larvae), but you can also delight your palate with an exquisite consommé and lamb barbecue.

Teotihuacán counted with 2.454 people who speak an indigenous language in 1995 according to the CONAPO. Indigenous groups who have migrated to seek better opportunities come from the interior of the State and the Republic, mainly from Chiapas and Oaxaca. And according to the second count in 2005 the municipality has a total of 46,779 inhabitants.
