The Viva Wyndham Maya has 400 comfortable rooms in low rise buildings surrounded by exotic tropical gardens and interconnected by a network of paths. Each room has a balcony and is decorated in light colonial style. They feature two double beds air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, safe, ironing facilities and accessories for the handicapped. All bathrooms have shower and bathtub; hair dryers, connecting rooms and cribs are available.

The Viva Wyndham Maya resort offers a complete range of facilities starting with 3 bars, 3 restaurants, a disco and theater. Sports enthusiasts can play tennis, practice archery, ride bicycles or visit the nearby 18-hole Von Hagge Associates designed golf course in fashionable Playacar. Other activities include beach volleyball, water polo, snorkeling and introductory scuba classes in the hotel pool or enjoy the kayaks, sailboats and windsurfs. A Dive Center offers more elaborate diving and snorkeling excursions for an additional cost. Children have their own supervised activities at the Kids Club. The Wyndham Maya also offers cooking classes, yoga, meditation and dance contests. Stay in shape at their gym or pamper yourself with a massage, Jacuzzi and beauty salon treatment.
If you need to stay in touch with the office, their business center is well equipped and provides a relaxing environment. Inside the hotel there is a boutique, drugstore, gift shop, travel agency, car rental and currency exchange. Their food and beverage offerings are of a very high-quality, La Terraza restaurant provides international buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the Viva Mexico is a grill and buffet style restaurant with a Mexican menu; the Portofino is open for dinner serving Mediterranean specialties; guests can a restaurant reservations at the Maya’s sister hotel the Wyndham Azteca or go to the Viva Cafe in Playa del Carmen for a dinner that includes house wine, beer and soda for $5, children under 12 are free.
