Ixtapa and Zihautanejo Hotels

Zihuatanejo, originally a simple fishing village, is located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico in the state of Guerrero. Ixtapa is a modern tourist development established only 5 km away of the original town of Zihuatanejo. Ixtapa was a planned tourist resort that the Mexican government initiated in 1970. The expansion of the project resulted in series of modern beach front hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, discos, and all the services available in a luxury tourist destination. In the meantime, Zihuatanejo has kept the traditional Mexican flavor of a small village with a beautiful bay and several beaches.
