Boca de Tomatlan, Vallarta

Home > Guide > Vallarta > Cities > Boca de Tomatlan

Boca de Tomatlan is a small and tranquil fishing village that produce most of the fish consumed in the area. Surrounded by mountains and tropical jungle, the zone is a collection of wonderful landscapes. The beautiful beaches with clear sand and soft waves invite you to rest and relax while enjoying the tranquil atmosphere of the village. There are zones where you can practice diving like Colomitos y "Bajo de la Boca", or rent a boat and go fishing all day long. Boca de Tomatlan is the source of many aquatic-taxis to the beaches and villages in the surroundings that can only be reached by boat. Some of them are Las Animas, Quimixto, Majahuitas and Yelapa. At the beach in Boca de Tomatlan there are several palapa-restaurants where you can enjoy the unique taste of fresh fish cooked regional style.

Boca de Tomatlan is situated 3 miles south of Mismaloya, and 20 minutes Southeast from Puerto Vallarta taking the freeway no. 200

In Boca de Tomatlán there is limited lodging, but the closeness to Vallarta, Mismaloya and Yelapa makes it very easy to choose from simple huts, comfortable condominiums to high end hotels.
