Considered on of the most exclusive and famous zone of Mexico city, Polanco is a culturally diverse neighborhood encompassing several colonies. It borders west with Periferico or Boulevard Avila Camacho; east with Mariano Escobedo Avenue; south with Paseo de la Reforma, and north with Ejercito Nacional Avenue. Polanco, regarded as one of the most exclusive zones to live in Mexico city, offers high quality shopping options as well as outstanding restaurants and entertainment.

Formerly known as Hacienda de los Morales, this part of the city began to develop in the 1920's when wealthy people moved out from downtown. Among the first inhabitants of Polanco were descendants of Jewish, Lebanese, and Spanish immigrants. During the 50's, mansions and luxury apartment complexes were built.

At the end of last century, Polanco experienced a construction boom that has changed its appearance. Nowadays, Polanco features several hotels, shopping malls, art galleries, skyscrapers, theaters, restaurants, dwellings, and office spaces of the highest level.

Among the different types of cuisines that can be found here, visitors can palate Mexican, Polish, Portuguese, Swiss, American, Argentinian, Chinese, Spanish, Catalonian, French, Hindu, Japanese, Lebanese, and Mediterranean.

All kind of private and public services can be found in Polanco from car rentals, travel agencies, hotels, and beauty parlors to event or convention spaces, real state companies, computing, Internet, and photo shops, and health clinics, among many others.

Important museums are located in Polanco Zone too, like the National Museum of History and Anthropology, the Rufino Tamayo Museum, and the Modern Art Museum.

One of its well known streets, named Presidente Masarik, features the most prestigious brand names regarding clothing and deluxe accessories, among which the following can be mentioned: Brioni, Burberry,
Bvlgari, Carolina Herrera, Carrera y Carrera, Cartier, Chanel, Christian Dior, Corneliani, Diesel, Donna Karan, Marina Rinaldi, Massimo Dutti, Steve Madden, Stuart Weitzman, Swarovsky, Vilebrequin, Von Dutch, and Zanetti.

Visiting and strolling Polanco is for both locals and tourists, without a doubt, a marvelous opportunity for shopping, visiting art galleries, eating at excellent restaurants, or just having a break at a nice bar.
