It was in the year 1950, at the beginning of September, when Victor (Pipo) Diego Paco and his wife, Lucia Ramos Cipres, due to the difficult financial times they were enduring, decided to start selling seafood to local people and to tourists visiting beautiful Acapulco.
Nowadays, with the aid of their four sons and one daughter, Mariscos Pipo has grown and there are three restaurants in Acapulco under this name. They represent the economic sustenance for more than one hundred families in this port.
Among the main dishes, visitors should try "Ceviche Acapulqueño" (raw fish salad), "Quesadillas de Cazon", Combined Cocktails, Fish Fillet with Almonds. Besides, Fish in Red or Green Sauce as well as Grilled Shrimps, Grilled King Prawns, and Grilled Lobsters are delicious. Mariscos Pipo offers different types of cocktails and soups based on sea products. The restaurant specializes in clams, oysters, and crayfish.
Due to quality and delicious flavor of its dishes, Mariscos Pipo has received different awards, both national and international. Mariscos Pipo is on 105 Miguel Aleman Coast Avenue, right in the Zona Dorada of Acapulco, in the state of Guerrero. Mariscos Pipo opens from 13:00 hrs. to 21:30 hrs. | |
