Mazatlan is home of an archaeological museum. It features several important archaeological pieces related to the area, many dating back from Pre-Hispanic times. The museum is one of the best places to learn more about Mazatlan and its rich history throughout time.

The museum features several artifacts retracing the history of the State of Sinaloa. Discover many paintings in their 5 exhibits, clay figures, archaeological pieces and even sculptures. There is an interesting room retracing the old Mazatlan, and the Mexican Revolution with dozens of pictures. There is also a permanent contemporary art exhibit that it´s worth the visit.
The Archaeological museum is small and it takes about two hours to visit. That gives you plenty of time to admire all the collections.

The Archaeological Museum of Mazatlan is located in downtown, the old city. It is situated in 76 Sixto Osuna street. It is only 1 block from the main avenue Olas Altas. You can reach it easily by taxi from your hotel or if you are close to downtown, enjoy a short walk from the beach discovering the lively streets.

The museum has guided tour available. It opens from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. til 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. til 7:00 PM. Entry fees is $1.5 USD.
