Yelapa, in part famous for Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, with the movie "Night of the Iguana", is a small village laying at the Southern end of Banderas Bay. The waterfalls, its jungle and the beauty of the place make it a must visit during your stay in Puerto Vallarta.

How to get there: We recommend you to go to Yelapa by boat (45 minutes rides) as it is the traditional and perfect way to discover all the beauty of the place. There is also a small road now, but less charming.
Yelapa was connected to the light only 3 years ago…The village kept its antic charm for many years, with a relax way of life, under the sun, in front of the Pacific Ocean. The place is perfect to explore and discover the beauty of the Sierra Madre and the ocean.

What to do: There is so much to do in Yelapa. You can either start with its mountain and jungle, where you will be able to discover a lot of tropical birds, monkeys and an abundant vegetation. After a walk, we recommend you to visit the famous waterfalls (35 meters). The water is so pure, and so fresh…It is the best spot to refresh yourself and swim a little bit in a fascinating place .

The beach, famous for its almost white sand, is a true paradise. Just sit back and enjoy the beauty of the site, far away from civilization. The true spirit of vacation. And why not explore the marine life, it’s a great place to snorkel with its turquoise blue water.

Yelapa means "the gathering place" and you will find the people very friendly and helpful. Visit the town and the typical houses, and discover the everyday life of the inhabitants of Yelapa.

Information: If you decide to spend the night in Yelapa, there are small accommodation and the local are renting extra – rooms from their house. Rates depends from the season. Yelapa is really a small place of heaven, and if you are in Puerto Vallarta, don’t miss the unique opportunity to visit this village. It is well worth and will give you everlasting memories.
