Las Caletas is a small hideaway beach located 10 minutes North of Yelapa, only accessible by boat. Perfect for snorkeling, or enjoying a day under the sun of Puerto Vallarta, this place was discovered by the famous film director John Huston.

How to get there?: The only transportation from Puerto Vallarta to Las Caletas is by boat, in a trip of about 1 hour long. The secluded beach was once the private paradise of John Huston, and you can easily discover why. The beauty of the place has no equal, with clear water ideal to snorkel, lush vegetation ready to be explored and very few people around. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, inviting you to spend some time under the palm tree shadows, swinging gently on a hammock or just relaxing under the sun.

Activities: Las Caletas are a true paradise of activities. From snorkeling or kayaking in the Pacific Ocean, discovering the wide variety of tropical fish or sea lions swimming around, to exploring the jungle and the mountain behind the beach. There is a deer and parrot sanctuary and a wide range of tropical birds to watch. But if you are in a mood to relax, we recommend you the hammocks on the beach, the place is also idyllic for that well deserved siesta during your vacations.

Information: Don't miss the Nature Trail designed by world renowned botanist Charles Sacamano, exploring the rich flora and fauna of Las Caletas and the tropical jungle typical of the area of Puerto Vallarta and Sierra Madre mountains.
It is important not to forget bringing comfortable shoes, bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, camera, and a light sweater during the cooler months.
