Discovery Acapulco presents you through this section, the most updated information about seasonal weather conditions and ocean water temperatures and offers facts and links about hurricanes in Acapulco.

Weather: Acapulco and its bay are located along the Pacific Ocean, nested between mountains of the Sierra Madre. The weather is mainly warm and humid all year round. There is a rainy season from end of June until September will occasional rain late in the afternoon. November until March are relatively colder and dry. However the rainforest within the mountains is humida year round.

Hurricanes: Acapulco, due to its position on the globe is a possible target for tropical storms and/or hurricane. Boris (1996) and Pauline (1997) were the last 2 hurricanes which hit the coastline. The hurricane season starts in June and finishes in late October. Nevertheless, it is not a subject to worry about as the major hotels are well prepared in case of an emergency and the Federal and Local Governments are in close relationship with many National and International Weather Agencies in order to warn and protect everyone, given the case. There are various plans to be carried away in case of natural disasters.

Ocean Temperature: The Pacific Ocean in the Bay of Acapulco has an average temperature of 80°F. The coldest months are December and January, with an average of 74°F. Summer brings back the heat with temperature rising above 82°F, which means you will be able to enjoy the ocean all year round. A point to ponder is that as Acapulco is nested in the Sierra Madre mountains, some places are rocky with cliffs and huge and powerful waves ( La Quebrada ), please be careful when swimming. Red Flag means it is dangerous to swim.
