The Avalon Reef is built on a tiny island connected by a pedestrian bridge to the northern tip of Isla Mujeres which is itself an island. It offers easy access to El Garrafon Park, numerous island beaches and the entertainment district.

Getting to the hotel involves a 30 minute cab ride from the airport to the Puerto Juarez ferry terminal and another 20 minute boat ride to Isla Mujeres.

Their spacious standard type rooms offer marvelous ocean views, all have a balcony and are equipped with a queen size or two single beds, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, DVD player, clock radio, telephone, voicemail, room safe, iron and a hairdryer. Connecting rooms are subject to availability, cribs are available at extra cost.

The Avalon Reef Isla Mujeres offers good services and facilities that include 24-hour room service, three restaurants, three bars, currency exchange, boutique/gift shop, tobacco shop and a travel agency. Stay in shape in their gym or enjoy yourself in their games room, riding bicycles, playing volleyball or beach soccer. The hotel´s beach is considered one of the top ten beaches in the Caribbean. Other hotel facilities include two swimming pools - one fresh and one saltwater. Children between the ages of 4 and 10 will especially enjoy the special activities put on by the hotel for them between 9 AM and 4:30 PM in the kid´s playground area with their pool too. At the end of a wonderful day spent in the sun and sea, pamper yourself at the beauty salon or with a massage and spa treatment.

Available water sports include polo, aerobics, volleyball, scuba and snorkeling classes as well as a fishing expeditions. The dive center has PADI certified instructors.

Inside, the hotel features a business and communication center with secretarial service, audiovisual equipment and event facilities for up to 70 people.

The hotel has three excellent restaurants: Kelly´s Grill, open from 7 AM to 10:30 PM, features a casual ambiance and a wide variety of buffet dishes; the Porterhouse Grill, serving by the pool from 4 PM until 11 PM, specializes in steaks and seafood; the North Beach Terrace serves oriental dishes, fish and seafood in a romantic atmosphere from 7 PM until 10:30 PM.

The all inclusive plan features meals, and snacks between 11 PM and 7 AM; breakfast in your room (order the night before); all alcoholic beverages; 24-hour room service; in-house organized recreational activities; sports accessories, use of the games room and gym; the use of canoes and kayaks (deep sea fishing, snorkeling tours and scuba diving are extra); entertainment, contests, shows and theme parties three times a week; Avalon guests can enjoy dinner at any of the chain´s other hotels (except the Avalon Baccara).
