The Explorean Kohunlich is located 32 kilometers from the Rio Hondo border of Mexico and the central American country of Belize, just two miles from the mysterious Kohunlich ruins from which the hotel draws its name.

The state capitol of Chetumal with its local airport is approximately 45 minutes away. The closest international airport is Cancun, about 4 hours travel overland and 45 minutes by air.
