Manzanillo Beach, Manzanillo


Manzanillo is located in west central Mexico at only 98 km west from Colima city. It is between Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta. Manzanillo is known as the Pacific Emerald for its golden beach and green ocean.

Manzanillo, located in the State of Colima, is an important tourist and commercial harbor. Manzanillo owes its name to a tree which was widely used in this area to build ships, due to the strength and resistance of its wood.

Manzanillo offers a great infrastructure to provide visitors with a superb vacation. Manzanillo is know as the Pacific emerald for its golden beach and green ocean.

You can reach Manzanillo either by road (several bus companies offer the trip), by air trough major airlines or by boat / cruise ships with state of the art harbor facilities. Manzanillo is only 98 Km from the city of Colima, and between Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta.

Manzanillo is famous for fishing, with a very important contest twice a year. Other aquatic activities include diving, snorkel, surf, kayak, and swimming. There are many restaurants around the town offering all kinds of food, with a great view of the Pacific Ocean.

The most beautiful feature of Manzanillo is its golden beach without doubt, on which you can spend a wonderful day. Manzanillo is famous for the diversity of the countryside it offers: mountains, jungle, and hidden creeks with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop.

Manzanillo is well served by several highways, airlines and harbor. Its temperature all year round is about 26°C, there is a mild rain season between June and October.
